The open-air museum is 10 hectares large and is located directly next to the amphitheater. It is a part of the Museum of the Ukrainian Culture.
This ethnographic exposition came into life in 1982; it presents everyday life of the Slovak Ruthenians and Ukrainians in the past. Included in the exposition are the most typical examples of the folk architecture of this part of Slovakia. Moved in and then reconstructed building contain typical folk furniture, household equipment, traditional tools and products of the folk craft.

All kinds of farm buildings are represented in the exhibition: Barns, pigsties, stables, cellars, wells and other smaller structures. All these object are equipped with traditional farming tools – various carriages, ploughs, harrows, scythes, utensils etc.

Technical and farm buildings are represented by: water mill, windmill, water sawmill and other smaller objects. They are all located along a brook so it is possible to demonstrate how they work. Worth mentioning cultural artifacts: wooden orthodox church dated 1766 from Nova Polianka with a very rich interior.
Also presented are typical ways of getting food – farming and shepherding. The open-air museum co-operates with the modern amphitheater where every year celebrations of the traditional Holiday of Culture of Ruthenians and Ukrainians from Slovakia are held. As of the year 1986 in the ethnographic section of the museum, the event entitled Folk Treasures takes place as one of the folk-ethnographic shows: a traditional folk wedding, Easter traditions, christening celebrations, wishing well, children’s plays, fairs, village folk dancing, shows of the traditional folk craft etc.

Very popular are traditional Days of Folk Craft and Tradition with presentation of folk crafts: products of metal, wood, clay, leather and threads, and exhibitions of fresh fruits and vegetables, domestic and live-stock animals, bee-keeping products and international competition of making and cooking of pierogi (Eng. = filled Slavic dumplings).
