On the initiative of the Odrzykoniak Association, OSP (=Voluntary
Fire Brigade) and Municipality of Wojaszówka the first in Podkarpacie
Countryside Museum was opened on August 16 1998 within the frame
of events devoted to the 650th anniversary of Odrzykoń.
Gathered numerous exhibits related to the history of Odrzykoń
and the Castle Kamieniec include ethnographic collections, folk
craft samples, old firefighting equipment, documents, photos and
mementos. They illustrate almost all aspects of everyday life
of Odrzykoń throughout the ages of its existence. Traditional
folk clothing, old agricultural tools, bee-keeping equipment,
lamps, carpentry tools, spinning and weaving stands, music instruments,
firefighting accessories, paintings, photographs documenting social
and economic transformation, military uniforms and honors related
to the resistance fights and people who are considered extraordinary
for Odrzykoń. All collections came into life thanks to generosity
of the inhabitants and of the Municipality of Odrzykoń: everyday
use things, very often completely unknown to people of today,
which create a colorful mosaic of this place strongly rooted in
this sub-Carpathian (of Podkarpacie ) landscape. The collections
bring the inhabitants closer to their “little motherland”, show
the roots from which they grew up and teach young people respect
for their ancestors’ achievements. They are also a source of information
for all visitors to the ruins of the Kamieniec Castle.
