Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art is a one of a kind in Europe,
and the first in the whole world devoted to the work Andy Warhol,
one of the biggest modern painters of the 20th century. The museum
was founded in 1991 thanks to initiative of John Warhol, vice-president
of Andy Warhol Foundation of New York and other fans of the inventor
of the pop-art. There are 3 expositions devoted to the work of
Andy Warhol, his younger brother Paul, amateur artist, and his
cousin James, professional artist. The museum includes a multi-media
centre of artistic education of The Andy Warhol Association, directed
into current trends of the modern art. Kept in the museum are
also documents, archival material and other material related to
the roots of Andy Warhol. His parents were born in a small village
of Mikova near Medzilaborce.
