The museum was officially opened on December 14, 2002. It houses collections brought in by the Sisters working on missions in different parts of the world as well as items donated by other priest and civilian missionaries. Collections have their roots in Africa, South America, Asia and Oceania. They include everyday use things as kitchen utensils, baskets, mats, combs made from grass, palm leaves, raffia, wood and leather, jewelry, music instruments, hunting arms, objects of cult, idols, fetishes of miscellaneous believes, paintings, prepared animals, and other interesting items. While visiting the museum one can also watch movies from and about exotic countries and places.
