Izba Muzealna (or so called Museum Chamber ) in Krościenko Wyżne
was created and opened in 1993 by a local Village Housewife Circle
on the initiative of a school teacher and social activist Zofia
Przybyła. Originally artifacts gathered from all around the village
were displayed in a room of the 80 years old organist house next
to the church, spared for this particular purpose by Father Jan
Szpunar. With the influx of artifacts this village museum expanded
and now is housed in the entire building. Visitors can admire
furniture, paintings, models of traditional folk clothing, kitchen
utensils, spinning/ weaving stands, shoemaker’s workshop, linen
processing, spinning, laundry and ironing tools. The other chamber
of the Museum displays documents, school equipment, old photos,
periodicals, figures, paintings, liturgical utensils, book collection
from the old church dated 1450 illegally dismantled in 1911. In
the third chamber collected is heavy farming equipment. All presented
artifacts and mementos come solely from Krościenko Wyżne
