County of Jaslo

Tourist attractiveness of the Jaslo County results mainly from its natural values. Here lies the Magura National Park which consists of forest complexes with unique flora and fauna. So, it is no surprise that tourists looking for peace and quiet and untainted contact with nature will find abundance of attractive places in here.

Visitors to this area who are looking for an active relax, can find it here. Horse lovers can spend time in horse riding centres out of which the most interesting one in Kotan near Krempna offers horse riding lessons, horseback riding, carriage riding and in winter time sleigh rides. Those who prefer walking or cycling can take numerous marked trails (among others in the south: marked red the main Beskidy trail, marked blue the border trail... there is also a yellow one and many other liaison trails). In the backwoods of the Lower Beskid a careful and observant tourist may find many species of plants and animals. It may be an unforgettable experience to watch the beavers in their habitat almost on all rivers, streams and brooks of the county. In the northern part of the county there is a walking trail connecting Przybowka - Krajowice - Trzcinica - Skolyszyn - Swiecany.

This trail will provide the visitors with exceptional scenic and natural values as well as bring him near the unique historic monuments of the region. The neighbourhood of Osiek Jasielski offers natural baths on the Wisloka River in Zaleze and Osiek as well as camping sites in Pielgrzymka and Mrukowa. In the forests of the Debowiec commune one can find erratic boulders and among them the Devil's Stone near Folusz, around which a nature reserve has been set. The local climate is very good for health. In the vicinity of this place anglers can enjoy catching trout. In the neighbourhood of Kolaczyce one can visit a geological reserve "Golesz" . Sports - and climbing in particular - oriented visitors will be tempted by the rocks of Krajowice. In the commune of Brzyska there are two interesting trails leading to the top of the majestic Liwocz mountain where one can find a cross and an observation tower.

Worth visiting is also the Krzywacka Mountain near Katy where one can see the Jubilee Cross commemorating old hikes of the Pope John Paul II in this area. In Krempna and Folusz there are holiday and vacation centres as well as tourist objects. Farm tourism functions in many places around here but in the high season one can also stay overnight at school hostels. Gastronomy base is growing up. Reactivation and development of the Krempna Water Reservoir will make this area, which tempts tourists with its beauty, even more attractive. Peculiar attention draws the Carpathian Troy, also known as the Biskupin of Sub-Carpathian Region - a fortified settlement dated back to the beginnings of the bronze age. Important in the European scale archaeological discoveries have taken place there.

The oldest fortified settlements out of all discovered in Poland were discovered here and the traces of the first influence of the Balkan-Anatolian civilization on the early Polish settlements were also found here. Based on discoveries in Trzcinica a unique - on the country scale – archaeological open air museum – the branch of the Sub-Carpathian Museum in Krosno - and a unique tourist complex are being developed there. The fragments of banks and houses will be reconstructed. The archaeological park will include a reconstructed village dating back to the early bronze age and early medieval times.
